Tuberculosis prevalence surveys

The World Health Organization requested selected countries to perform national tuberculosis prevalence surveys, as a tool to improve estimates required for the evaluation of the Millennium Development Goals. KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation (the Netherlands) was one of the Technical Assistance partners that provided expertise and support to countries, including Bangladesh and Tanzania.

In addition to prevalence of disease, the surveys emphasized research into health seeking behaviour.
